Urdu Academy of Australia Inc
The Urdu Academy has been active in Australia (Melbourne, Victoria) since mid-to-late 1990’s. It was formally established in Sydney in July 2010 as the Urdu Academy of Australia Inc. to promote Urdu language and literature.
The Urdu Academy of Australia Inc. is a branch of the Urdu Academy in Multan, Pakistan that was founded some 48 years ago by three renowned poets and dedicated persons, Dr. Arsh Siddiqi, Anwar Anjum and Fayyaz Tehsin.
The Urdu Academy of Australia Inc. is a not-for-profit organization. The Urdu Academy, is a literary and educational organization, which is in the process of organising a monthly mehfil e sher o sukhan on the last Sunday of each month between 3:00-6:00 P.M at the following address:

The sitting each month focusses on a classical poet and a modern day poet. Maqalas are presented highlighting their works and contributions to Urdu language and literature. Their poetry is also recited by the participants.
A few of their ghazals/ Nazms will be recited by the local singers.
Local Poets are also incouraged to share their own works.
